EUR weakened in the Asian morning, but recovered from early lows of 1.1098 to 1.1179. GBP was nearly unchanged from Friday’s close at 1.4999, while AUD and NZD were about 0.3% lower at 0.7886 and 0.7429 respectively. JPY gained about 0.2%, with USDJPY down to 117.56, while USDKRW fell to 1079.8. Within the EM Asia FX space, most currencies were weaker against the dollar – USDIDR rose 0.5% to 12533, while USDMYR rose 0.2% to 3.6065. USDCNH was also higher at 6.2669, as the PBoC fixed USDCNY 42 pips higher at 6.1384.
