The USD strengthened in mid-day trading in Asia. USDJPY edged higher to 101.6, AUDUSD dipped towards 0.939 and EURUSD shrugged off earlier gains to revert to NY close near 1.361. USDINR gapped higher on the open to 59.9 while IDR 1m NDF was largely unchanged ahead of the preliminary presidential election results due later today. On the other hand, PHP made a 0.4% gain to 43.36. The PBoC lowered the fix for a second time this week to 6.1565, 61pips below yesterday’s level.
