We have a light data calendar again today with only second tier releases such asmanufacturing production in the UK, revised Q4 GDP in Italy and small businessconfidence in the US of secondary importance.

EU finance ministers will meet this morning in connection with the ECOFINmeeting. They are likely to continue the discussion about banking union where theimplementation and funding of a common resolution mechanism for failing banksremains the main sticking point. Possible aid for Ukraine could also be on the agenda

Finally we have a number of speeches from ECB board members today inconnection with the ECB’s Watchers conference in Frankfurt. The ECB’s chiefeconomist Peter Praet and board members Mersch and Coeure are all scheduled tospeak in connection with the conference.
