The USD strengthened ahead of the release of the Fed minutes with USDJPY breaking to a post-2007 high of 117.36. EURUSD also inched lower to 1.252, while AUD and NZD declined 0.8% and 0.9% respectively, with the latter further impacted by weak dairy auctions. The JPY move has also pushed USDKRW higher to 1106, with JPYKRW rising slightly to 9.42. Elsewhere in Asia, both TWD and THB have weakened 0.2%, while USDINR inched 0.1% higher to 61.83. The IDR on the other hand held flat to yesterday’s close at 12148. The PBoC lowered the USDCNY fix by 33pips to 6.1397, but USDCNH has rebounded to 6.1222 from a low of 6.1156.
