EUR/USD Analysis

The pair ended NY session at $1.2438, after registering a range of $1.2419 to $1.2492. Early dollar strength pressured the euro to hit session low of $1.2427 before surging up to session high of $1.2451 on stronger aussie and euro crosses buying, but the spot eased to $1.2432 after RBA Kent’s comments, knocking aussie lower. The euro grinding higher to $1.2443 last while the market woke up to talks of possible Abe snap elections during Asia lunch time. Reported bids at $1.2400, while decent offers noted at $1.2500 with more at $1.2510 from reserve name and reported Friday option expiry at $1.2500 for Eur3 mln. Traders await China retail sales and industrial production out soon. Final Oct HICP for Germany (and France, Spain and Italy) and US jobless claims set for release later. Traders will be watching final EMU HICP for October and flash Q3 GDP data tomorrow.
