EUR/USD Analysis

The pair closed in NY at $1.3606, above the 21-day moving average at $1.3599 for the first time since early May, and then started in Asia at $1.3608. It spent the early hours of the Asian morning supported off that opening mark, marking early highs near $1.3616. It extended the morning high to $1.3621, aided also by a stronger euro-yen tone and then topped out there. Euro-dollar continued to hold just off that high heading into the afternoon session in Asia and ahead of the European open, and was last at $1.3618.Immediate focus shifts to the $1.3666-77 region with the 200-DMA at $1.3667. The $1.3583-02 support region remains key for the euro with bears needing a close below the $1.3583 support to confirm a false break higher and see focus shift back to the key $1.3500-15 region. Stops are noted below $1.3600 and $1.3580 and topside above $1.3680.
