U.S. debt ceiling debate again in focus
Polish CPI inflation slowed down to 1% y/y
Yesterday, the Polish zloty together with the Hungarian forint profited from optimism that U.S. debt ceiling stalemate would be solved. Nevertheless as prospects for reaching a compromise acceptable for both sides darkened again during the night, yesterday’s gains will be most probably short-lived. In contrast to the aforementioned currencies, the koruna weakened without any domestic fundamental impetus and even a better than expected ZEW could not change its course.
