AUDUSD weakened slightly further to 0.8912 in Asian trading, but EURUSD and USDJPY were essentially flat to their New York closes at 1.3215 and 99.34 respectively. Most USD-Asia pairs gapped higher at the open, but the PHP and TWD have retraced their losses and the KRW has regained most of its drop at the open. USDMYR and USDTHB stand out for sustaining their rises to 3.2528 and 31.40 respectively. USDCNY fixed 39pips higher to 6.1817, its highest level since May 30, but this did not erase the overnight gain in the CNY on a tradeweighted basis.
