Polish CPI eases more than expected

Central European currencies rose on Monday as demand for high yielding assets continued to attract investors into the CEE region. Positive sentiment overshadowed also fresh Polish CPI figures. Polish inflation dropped to 1% y/y in March from 1.3% in February, slightly more compared to consensus forecast. The figure is the lowest since June 2006 and probability that the declining trend will continue is high. Food and energy prices have been the main factors causing low inflation.
