ll eyes in Asia were firmly fixed on the RBA rate announcement (and maybe Australian eyes also on the Melbourne Cup horse race 30 minutes later!).

EUR: Opened early Europe at $1.2830, Euro-dollar closed in NY Friday at $1.2835, just off session lows of $1.2822 seen following the release of stronger than forecast US employment data.

– Australian retail sales data give go ahead to RBA rate cut Our economists note that broad-based weakness in Q3 led real retail sales to fall by 0.1% q/q, the worst performance for almost two years.

EUR – Trades poorly, only just managing a close above the 200 day (1.2830) in ny and now running stops 1.2810-1.2782 low. Its the first time i dont want to be no long eur now that these range lows at 1.2800 have broken.

EUR: Opened early Europe at $1.2902, Euro-dollar opened flat in Asia around $1.2937 and after some early demand interest lifted to $1.2951. The pair met resistance and ground lower as interbank traders positioned shorts ahead of stops beneath $1.2925.
