AUD/USD Analysis

It’s been a relatively quiet session for the AUD/USD since it started at $0.8134 this morning. It marked a marginal high of $0.8136 and then retreated as the US dollar chalked up its early gains vs the yen. Aussie-dollar rebounded as euro-dollar did and it then traded a mid-morning high of $0.8133 before it ran into sellers at the $0.8140/50 region. The aussie then turned back down again, sliding back to around $0.8120, where it has since been held. It last traded at $0.8121. Only a close above $0.8235 would confirm a break of the channel top and ease current bearish pressure while above $0.8299 would shift focus to the $0.8376-0.8469 region. Stops are seen above $0.8180, $0.8210, $0.8240 and $0.8300 today and on the downside below $0.8100.
