Aussie witnessed a muted start this mornign as it opened at $0.9394, after a $0.9387 to $0.9403 range during the US hours. Aussie-dollar held around $0.9392/96 in the early hours of the session right until after Japanese stocks started their session. Aussie-dollar then started to drift lower in the lead up to the release of the RBA minutes and it traded at the day’s $0.9384 low just before the release. The RBA minutes then triggered a spike in the aussie, which saw the rate jump to a $0.9402 high. The move almost immediately stalled with some dealers then noting the appearance of sellers at $0.9405. Aussie-dollar quickly retreated to the $0.9390 zone again, where it has since held. The aussie was last at $0.9394. Small stops are noted above $0.9410 with more seen above $0.9460 and $0.9510. The $0.9322 support remains key with a close below needed to shift focus back to the 200-day moving average at $0.9197. Stops are also noted below the $0.9361 July 10 low and below $0.9320 today.
