AUD/USD continues to hover precariously above initial support with the 200-DMA noted below. Bears remain firmly focused on a break lower that initially targets the 200-DMA and then the 100-DMA. Bulls need to see a close above $0.9275 to confirm an easing of bearish pressure whereas a close above the 21-DMA is needed to shift overall focus higher. Daily studies have corrected back to more neutral levels and are no longer an issue

NZD/USD finally broke lower, taking out and closing below both the 21-DMA ($0.8620) and 55-DMA ($0.8603) on Tuesday. Immediate focus has seen bears now initially targeting the $0.8501-18 region and then the $0.8440-60 region overall. Bulls need to see a close back above the $0.8620 level to ease the renewed bearish pressure that sees the pair consolidate below the 55-DMA.

AUD/NZD has worked its way through the NZ$1.0792-1.0810 support region with bears now firmly focused on the NZ$1.0728-55 region and a break lower targeting the NZ$1.0644 May 27 low. Bulls need a close above NZ$1.0836 to confirm a break of the 21-DMA and ease the current bearish pressure and a close above NZ$1.0858 to shift focus back to 2014 highs. Daily tech studies are heading lower from O/B levels and add weight to the bearish case.

AUD/JPY continues to remain heavy with bears firmly focused on the 100 & 200-DMA’s and then the Y90.05-91.18 region. Wednesday’s bounce lacked follow through and adds weight to the bearish case. Initial resistance is noted at Wednesday’s high with bulls needing a close above to confirm an easing of bearish pressure. Overall bulls will be looking for a close above the 21-DMA to shift focus back to 2014 highs.

EUR/AUD looked a little heavy overall on Thursday after having remained capped at the 200-DMA on Wednesday. Overall bears look for a close below $1.4706 to reconfirm bearish focus and retarget 2014 lows. Thursday’s dip bounced from ahead of the A$1.4706 support confirming its significance. Bulls now look for a close above the 200-DMA to confirm a break higher with immediate focus shifting to the 55-DMA.
