AUD/USD Analysis

Australian markets returned from their Easter holidays today but trading interest hasn’t really picked up due to the fact that Australia observes another holiday – ANZAC Day – this Friday. The aussie started this morning at $0.9328 and initially struggled to make gains toward last night’s $0.9347 high. It got to $0.9342 after Japanese stocks got underway but pulled back after that to $0.9332, in the face of sellers at the $0.9340/50 region and stops believed to be sitting above. Aussie-dollar however found fresh legs later in the morning as the US dollar ran into risk-on selling, this time trading a high of $0.9359 though gains are still being impeded by further offers ahead at $0.9380/90.Aussie-dollar was last at $0.9350. Some mention of small bids down near the overnight US low of $0.9319, with bigger interest noted toward $0.9300, just below the 21-day moving average at $0.9309.
