USD/JPY and EUR/JPY had flushed lower in European dealings, the dollar finding a base at Y80.45 and Y104.65 before both began a slow climb higher that stalled ahead of the US session. Dollar was steady around Y80.75 in early action as EUR/JPY pushed up to Y105.50 but both turned lower into mid-morning as risk-appetites were pared back with Dow
gains deflating after mixed morning data. Dollar skidded to Y80.30 around the option cut as stops were gunned below Y80.40 and as EUR/JPY cratered to Y104.60 but dollar rebounded to Y80.50 as EUR/JPY lifted to Y105.20, fueled by a firmer euro. Euro gains continued into the afternoon, EUR/USD doing much of the heavy lifting, but EUR/JPY
lifting to Y105.80 and providing boost to USD/JPY for trade to Y80.50. Late dealings saw Y80.50/105.75.
