AUD/USD Analysis

Aussie weakened in early trade after it had opened at $0.9297 this morning, dragged lower in part by a weaker New Zealand dollar after the release of NZ trade data. Aussie-dollar continued to slide as risk appetite remained soft, and the pair traded a low of $0.9272 soon after Japanese stock markets opened in the red and as yen crosses also traded lower. A minor recovery was then seen as the rumored demand in the $0.9255/50 zone, coming in above reported stops at $0.9230, countered the selling interest. Aussie-dollar climbed back toward $0.9280 and then paused at $0.9298. The pair pushed through $0.9300 in the late morning and rose to a high of $0.9302 as the US dollar encountered broader weakness before running out steam. Aussie-dollar was last at $0.9292 with sellers noted above the overnight high, from around $0.9330 while stops are also seen above $0.9350 and $0.9380.
