AUD/USD Analysis

Aussie started at $0.9395 this morning and briefly went up to $0.9405 but the early risk-averse environment then pushed the rate through $0.9400 back to $0.9395. The lower open in many of the region’s main stock markets added weight to the move and aussie-dollar bottomed out at $0.9384. Aussie-dollar got a mild lift off the low as aussie-kiwi cross gained before it received a further bump higher on comments from RBA Assistant Governor Christopher Kent on activity in the non-mining sector. Aussie-dollar recoveredback above $0.9400 and got up to $0.9404, just short of the earlier $0.9405 high. Ahead, bids are noted below last Friday’s US low of $0.9376, coming in at $0.9370 and $0.9350, holding the downside. Sellers meanwhile are seen at $0.9450, according to market sources.
