April’s consumer price data will be released in Japan on Friday
This will be the first release of national CPI following the country’s sales tax rise. Tokyo consumer prices and national corporate goods prices have both been published already for April. But the Bank of Japan’s target measure of inflation is national CPI excluding fresh food costs or “core” inflation. This will be published tomorrow.
