AUD/USD Analysis

Aussie started this morning at $0.9087 and spent the initial few hours of the day shuffling between $0.9080 and $0.9090 as the market waited for the RBA minutes to be released. The aussie responded to the minutes with a sharp spike through $0.9100 and very quickly hit a high of $0.9110 soon after. The move however stalled when it ran into a US name selling from around $0.9115 to $0.9120 and aussie-dollar turned back down after that. Losses picked up some speed after the aussie was hit further by the PBOC’s yuan fix this morning, and as the Chinese currency weakened in both onshore and offshore markets. Aussie-dollar eventually traded a $0.9075 low before consolidating inmid-range, just under $0.9090. The pair was last at $0.9080.
