AUD/USD Analysis

Aussie started this morning at $0.8967 and was held between $0.8960 and $0.8970 in the early hours of trade today. It slipped to $0.8957 soon after Japanese stocks opened lower but found a mild but very brief bounce to $0.8967 after data showing a smaller-than-expected Nov trade deficit. A large US account was then seen selling aussie-dollar down again soon after, said to be from $0.8970/75 and that instigated a sharper withdrawal in aussie-dollar down to $0.8924 around mid-morning. Aussie-dollar caught another bid tone soon after as demand from $0.8920 kicked in, bringing it to $0.8944before it reversed again, falling to a fresh session low of $0.8917 in the early afternoon. The pair was last at $0.8928, having slipped below the 21-day moving average at $0.8933, with stops now noted below $0.8915, $0.8875 and $0.8820 with topside stops seen above $0.9005.
