AUD/USD: Focus Remains Topside For Now. AUD/USD has taken out initial resistance at $1.0440 with a close above needed to maintain focus on the rising daily channel top around $1.0545 and then Sept monthly highs above. The 21 day upper Bollinger is noted around $1.0460 today and is likely to slow the move higher a little with closes above not often seen.

The pair has paused ahead of the somewhat pivotal $0.8200-30 resistance region with a close above needed to shift immediate focus back to retests of the Nov 7 highs and then Sept monthly highs above. Layers of support remain in the $0.8080-0.8125 region with a close below expected to see the Sept monthly lows come back into focus.

The rising daily channel base off Oct monthly lows supports around the Jpy82.20 level today and we will look for a close below the double daily bottom to confirm a break of the channel base. Layers of support remain in the Jpy81.25-00 region, which are expected to slow the move lower. For now focus remains on higher levels.
