Week of: Sept 3 – 9, 2011
USD Buying Demand:
Our clients were net buyers of USD on the week, though net flow was not especially large. In all, conviction on USD has been weak, as our clients have flipped from net buyers to net sellers and vice versa for the past six weeks in a row.
Strong EUR Selling:
For the second week in a row, our clients were net sellers of EUR. Additionally, selling has recently picked up, with selling flow over three times larger than the week prior.
CHF Heavy Buying:
We saw very heavy buying on the week, with CHF registering in the 97th percentile. However, excluding reserve manager activity, our clients were overall net sellers of CHF.
What’s New This Week:
CHF and USD were the most demanded currencies on the week, while CAD, EUR and AUD were the most heavily sold. In EM, BRL, TWD and INR saw the largest relative inflows, while PLN strongly fell out of favour.
