Brazil:              We forecast GDP growth of 2.9% in 2011 and 3.3% in 2012
Chile:               The minutes from the 18 August monetary policy meeting showed a diversity of opinions among board members regarding the future path of the monetary policy rate
Colombia:        CPI data for August will be published today; we expect the data to show that headline inflation was 0.10% mom last month
Mexico:            The PMI and producer confidence index fell in August to the weakest levels since October 2010 and April 2010, respectively

Europe, Middle East and Africa
Hungary:          The government will announce further public debt cuts this week, according to Prime Minister Orban
Poland:            The Monetary Policy Council is due to announce its policy rate decision on Wednesday (7 September)
Russia:             Fitch on Friday (2 September) affirmed Russia’s long-term foreign currency credit rating of BBB and left all ratings on a positive outlook; the focus this week will be on the central bank’s policy rate decision
Turkey:            The Statistics Office will release the August inflation data at 8:00am London time today
Ukraine:           Prime Minister Azarov indicated on Friday (2 September) that a possible restructuring of Naftogaz would affect terms of the 2009 gas agreement with Russia

Non-Japan Asia
China:              August non-manufacturing PMI was down 1.7pp to 55.5 after our seasonal adjustment, reflecting a weakened but still-resilient services sector
India:               August PMI showed a collapse in export orders
Indonesia:        CPI (Aug): More than a Hari Raya effect. The fall is over
