December NYMEX WTI prices are trading just below unchanged levels Tuesday after posting some losses during the previous session. December WTI futures ended Monday’s session 74 cents lower at $85.54 a barrel, after refiners reduced operations on the US East Coast because of Hurricane Sandy. WTI prices have been tied to a narrow trading range so far this morning with many market participants absent because of suspended floor trading which is set to be halted again today. WTI has advanced from session lows of $85.10 during Asian traded hours this morning and is now currently near session highs trading $85.46 a barrel, down 8 cents on the session.
