The Westpac-Melbourne Institute Index of Consumer Sentiment fell in January to a six-month low of 103.3. Sentiment hasdeclined over the past two months, but is still in positive territory (a level above 100 means that the number of optimistsoutweighs the number of pessimists). Sentiment is 2.6% higher than it was a year ago.
