Australia in 2014 – risks & issues

A degree of caution remains evident in forecasts for 2014. The general theme across a range of forecasters is that the Australian economy will continue to run a little below trend. Such an outcome would be a little disappointing in an absolute sense. And, with the advanced economies lifting, the Australian relative outperformance theme of the past few years will diminish as well. Nevertheless, Australia appears on track to complete its twenty-third year of uninterrupted economic growth in 2014.
