Building Activity – June quarter 2013

* Total building activity fell by a marginal 0.2% over QII, to be 2.0% higher over the year.
* Residential construction was 0.1% lower over QII. Dwelling commencements were flat but are now 9.8% higher over the year.
* Non-residential construction fell by 0.3% in QII. But, activity appears to be stabilising.
* Current dwelling commencement trends indicate that we are on track to achieve or surpass our annual target of 160K for residential construction.
