Behavior Is Different Between Private and Official
• While net purchases of U.S. financial assets dropped once again in March, the behavior was very different between private and official sources of demand.
• The private sector continued to acquire U.S. Treasury bonds and notes, $22.1 billion in March compared to a net decrease of $16.8 billion from official sources. Net TIC flows increased only $2.1 billion compared to $61.9 billion in February.
