In April, activity accelerated again in services. The CIPS services activity index (up to 52.9 from 52.4) reached its highest level since August 2012. That’s good news better still than from the manufacturing and construction sectors, which activity only contracting at a slower pace in Q2 than in Q1. Overall, the PMI composite index improved further.
